Honey Bees [Protected]
Description
Some bees are beneficial and should be protected, but carpenter bees, ground-nesting stinging insects, and other problem species can create safety or structural concerns around homes and businesses.
Royal Pest Management provides stinging insect inspections and treatment options in Grand Rapids and throughout West Michigan. We do not target honey bees except in rare emergency situations, but we can help identify what you are dealing with and recommend the right next step.
Why Do I Have Bees or Stinging Insects?
Stinging insect problems can happen for many reasons because different species prefer different nesting sites. Some nest in the ground, some build under eaves or decks, and carpenter bees can bore into exposed wood.
The first step is identifying what you have, because honey bees, carpenter bees, wasps, hornets, and yellow jackets should not all be handled the same way.
How Do I Get Rid of Bees or Stinging Insects?
Royal Pest Management can inspect the activity, identify the insect, and recommend the right treatment or removal option. We handle many stinging insect problems, including carpenter bees, wasps, hornets, and yellow jackets.
Honey bees are beneficial and protected, so we do not offer honey bee extermination except in rare emergency situations. When appropriate, we can recommend a better next step.
How Do I Keep Bees or Stinging Insects Away?
To help reduce future stinging insect issues, seal obvious nesting gaps, repair exposed or damaged wood, limit food and trash attractants, and monitor eaves, decks, sheds, and ground openings during the season.
Some activity is seasonal, but recurring nests around high-traffic areas should be handled carefully.
